Google created an API for developers to begin to create applications on Google+ less than 48 hours ago and, although the initial tools are quite limited, we’ve worked hard to build them directly into the storefront. With these new features retailers can post pictures, details, and links to their products on Google+ and then use this post as an ongoing discussion stream where people can find the product on Google+, view recommendations, and then click to purchase the product from your online store.

We recognize that this is just the beginning for social commerce on Facebook and Google and that in the coming months there will be many new features and possibilities when it comes to creating an e-commerce system that drives off social interaction across the Web.
